Our daughter Kimberly drank some water Wednesday and the doctors were pleased how her new stomach was working. Today more liquids and doing well. She told me today was a tough one. She was really tired and washed out! Her way of saying I am so tired. My surprise today was Gerald and I got a call from Cleveland Clinic!! We got to talk with Kimberly. Gerald and I thank everyone for their prayers for our daughter. Hundreds of people we’re praying for Kimberly. Leaning, leaning on our Lord and savior was a blessing!! Kimberly still needs prayer for all the new ways of living and chemotherapy and radiation will be taking place when she is stronger. Praise the Lord.

Update on previous request for nephew Travis. Hospitalized due to head on collison about 10 days ago. Finally out of ICU but still in need of prayer. Also please continue to pray for Brian Koch, fighting cancer for more than a year now.

Pray for Rachel and Kurtis they are adopting again and found out last night the birth mother tested positive for meth. The baby will be born June 17th by C-section. Drs. report babies lungs, brain and heart are all developing good. Pray she doesn't have any effects from the drugs and that there are not any other complications.

Gerald and Sandra Saunders
Kimberly’s surgery lasted seven hours. The hernia had pushed her stomach into her esophagus. The surgeons had to make a bigger incision to get to the hernia.
We have not heard about the esophagus yet. Her stomach was taken out and she is now connected to the small intestine. She is in recovery now and doing okay. The doctors hope there will not be any infection or any leakage.
She will be in the hospital for several days ( 7-14days). A nurse will go home with Kimberly. We do not know yet about what stage of cancer Kimberly has yet.
Prayers answered that she made it through the surgery. Gerald and I are so grateful of all that have prayed for her. Her message for us this morning was I love you and Dad so much. We will keep all posted as days go by. Praise the Lord!

My father, Wayne, suffered a heart attack Saturday 5/29 and was admitted to Bethesda North. He is stable & in good spirits, but waiting for a heart cath. With it being a holiday weekend, it may be pushed back until Tuesday as long as he remains stable. He had been feeling fine and even delivered Farmers to Families meals with the church on Friday. We appreciate all the prayers as he recovers!

Our daughter Kimberly will have her stomach surgery June 7 at the Cleveland Clinic. She will have three surgeons, esophagus, hernia and stomach. The chemotherapy did not work. The good thing is the cancer did not grow. She is so grateful all of the prayers. Gerald and I are so grateful also for the prayers she has received from churches, high school friends, her fellow workers, a missionary in Africa and many more. We have spent a week with her and no matter how old she is still our baby!! We could not get through this without our Lord.
